Carbonneau Associates was founded in 1986 with the goal of helping individuals. After years of employment/experience with large insurance companies, contractors and adjustment firms, our founders were disheartened by continuously seeing people not get what they deserve. This began our commitment to leveling the playing field and devoting our experience and expertise to representing the insured (you) against the insurance companies. We find that this line of work is rewarding and believe it is important and necessary. Our goal is the only one that is in-line with yours.
For those that are not familiar with what a “Public Insurance Adjuster” does:
We are licensed by the commissioner of insurance.
We are hired by “you” the policyholder in the event of an insurance loss.
We become your advocate in managing, appraising and negotiating the insurance claim for you.
We prepare our own comprehensive loss statements such as estimates, CAD drawings, contents lists (w/ references), photos, documents, etc.
We meet with all insurance company representatives.
Our position is for you to maintain control over the loss and proceeds.
In contrast, an insurance company will either have their own “Company/Staff” adjuster or will hire an “Independent” adjuster who can only represent the rights of an insurance company, minimizing their exposure.
Additionally, there are individuals and/or entities that will pose as representation and will advertise the handling of insurance losses. Unfortunately they are not well versed in insurance coverages and policies, which means they do not completely know and/or understand what you are entitled to. They may have their own interests in mind and you may unsuspectingly relinquish all control over the insurance loss and its proceeds.
